Premium Overviews
The Maryland Health Insurance Plan (MHIP) Board of Directors establishes monthly premiums for the plan year.
If you have a low or moderate income, you may qualify for reduced premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs through a program called MHIP+. Whether applying for MHIP for the first time or already enrolled, you must complete a separate MHIP+ Application.
After your application for enrollment is approved, you will be billed for your monthly premium.
Your payment, payable by personal check, is due by the 18th of each month. Make checks payable to Maryland Health Insurance Plan. No business or DBA checks will be accepted.
For your convenience, MHIP now offers the opportunity to pay monthly premiums through a direct debit from your checking account. Follow these instructions:
- Print the Automatic Debit Form
- Fill out all required information
- Attach a copy of a voided check
- Mail both documents to MHIP at the address provided on the form
Forms must be received by MHIP at least one month prior to the month that you want the automatic debit payment to begin. Automatic debit payments will be withdrawn from your account on or after the 18th of each month.
